Our Story
Mahia is morocco’s national spirit and represents the country’s rich cultural and culinary history. It has been distilled by morocco’s Jewish population for centuries. Now, master distiller David Nahmias, and his wife Doris, craft small batches of Maria in the Hudson Valley. The mania we produce today is based on an heirloom family recipe dating to 1900. The Nahmias family comes from a line of Mahia distillers based in the village of taznakht. Their spirit was considered the most exceptional in all of Morocco and was the regular star of many toasts in Casablanca.

Value Proposition
Nahimas ET Fils is the only mahia producer in the Western Hemisphere. All products are produced in small batches using only natural ingredients. No neutral spirits, sugar, colors or flavorings are added. Mahia has numerous cocktail and culinary applications. Mahia featured coast to coast from GW bar at the freehand hotel, NYC, to upstairs lounge at ACE Hotel LA. Culinary applications include Maria flame frogs gross at Daniel restaurant NYC.

Tasting Notes
100% California figs. No added Sugar. Fig and floral notes with hints of apricots, clementine, banana, licorice, apple and pear. 40% alc/vol. 80 Proof.
